Home About Us History

Amadeo was incubated at Vineyard Community Church through the College & Career group and through the Youth Group.  Ben Cloud and Ian Aston had helped lead the College & Career and Ben Cloud and Robert Howard had helped lead the Youth Group with several other families including the Cornejo's.  The Hoover family had lead the children's program at that same church.  When the church plant began around 11 families went and pioneered the work.  Some of the early goals were, and still are, to create a place where Christ is the center (where His Kingdom values were our kingdom values), where worship has a high priority, where the bible was taught in its entirety and spiritual education (maturity) was emphasized greatly.  We wanted a culture that valued transparency and being honest about areas in our life where we need spiritual growth.  We wanted to be engaged in our local culture, economically and racially diverse, and committed to serving our community and we were committed to caring for the poor, the needy, the broken, the homeless, single moms, and orphans.

The Church has moved from having only Monday services to Sunday services and many small life groups.  We have grown to around 150 people in a year and a half.  We have been continually committed to local and global missions.  We have adopted two local communities where we have formed long term relationships and we have travelled many times to an orphanage, sent a small team to work at Camp Barnabas (a special needs camp), and have sent another small team to work in Northern Ireland with Youth for Chirst.  We have also sent two of our finest missionaries to work at a church in Northern Ireland and are committed to working with local vineyard churches in Tanzania.

In our first three years we have committed to working hard to develop unity, a common vision, and to train up leaders through spiritual education classes, prayer and community groups, one on one discipleship and relationships and through the gospel and mission classes.  We believe that God has helped equip us and ready us for the mission of reaching our community for Jesus Christ.  We continually strive to contend for the faith of the gospel and to be faithful to His Spirit leading in our life.  More and more we are seeing mormons, Jehovah witnesses and people from other backgrounds coming to a deep love for Jesus, his church and his kingdom causes.

Our focus these days is simple (3/14/10):

1.  Preach and teach the kingdom values of God: care for kids, the poor, the marginalized locally and globally: to do justice, love mercy, walk humbly.

2.  To love others as Christ has loved us.

3.  Make new disciples

4.  Help make mature disciples to equip the church for works of ministry.
